Who publishes this site, what our connection to China actually is, and what it is not.
What this site is
China Routes Guide publishes itineraries for travel in China, built stop by stop from operator timetables and official ticket prices, with the date of every check printed next to the figure.
We build one destination at a time and finish it before starting the next. Each destination gets the same nine guides, so a reader always knows what exists and what does not.
Who writes it
The site is written and edited by Chriss R. and published by NET STUDIO LLC, a company registered in Wyoming, United States.
Our connection to China is commercial rather than touristic, and it is worth being precise about that. The editor has spent years importing components and equipment from Chinese suppliers, dealing with Chinese freight forwarders, factories and logistics documentation, and administers a community of several thousand importers who buy from China. That work involves Chinese operators, Chinese platforms and Chinese schedules on a weekly basis.
It does not involve visiting the Leshan Giant Buddha. We say so on every guide, and it is the reason this site is built the way it is.
What we are not
We are not a travel agency, a tour operator or a ticket reseller. We sell nothing — no bookings, no equipment, no gear — we book nothing on your behalf, we do not intervene with an operator for a traveller, we do not prepare quotes or cost estimates for a trip, and we take no commission on any ticket mentioned here.
We are also not a personal travel blog. If you want to know what it feels like to stand under the Buddha at dawn, there are people who have done it and written about it beautifully. What we can give you instead is the price, the opening window, the booking deadline and the date we last confirmed each one.
How the site pays for itself
China Routes Guide is funded by display advertising. Advertising has no influence on what we cover or what we recommend, and no advertiser sees a guide before it is published.
Editorial responsibility
