Shanghai Disneyland opened in Pudong on 16 June 2016. Its official homepage counts eight themed lands, while some sources count seven. This guide covers Shanghai Disney Resort tickets, the real-name entry rule for foreign visitors, hours, Premier Access and how to get to the park by metro. Where sources disagree, we show the range and name them. The desk has not visited the park, so nothing here is first-hand.

Shanghai Disneyland tickets and prices in 2026
Ticket prices change by day. Since 24 November 2024 the resort has sold adult one-day tickets in six tiers, CNY 475, 539, 599, 659, 719 and 799, and it later added intermediate tiers from mid-October 2025. A forecast of attendance sets the tier for each date, and the resort publishes a rolling 30-day calendar (Shanghai government portal and The Paper; the tier mechanics date from 2024 and 2025).
| Period or ticket | CNY | USD | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| October 2026 range | 475–689 | 70.77–102.65 | EastChinaTrip, checked 7 Oct 2026 |
| November 2026 range | 475–629 | 70.77–93.71 | EastChinaTrip, checked 7 Oct 2026 |
| Summer peak day | 719 | 107.12 | Sina Travel Guide, 11 Jul 2026 |
| Highest tier | 799 | 119.04 | disneyparknerds, chinafortravelers (Sep 2026) |
| Child 3–11 or senior 60+ | 356–599 | 53.04–89.24 | chinafortravelers, 2 Sep 2026; roughly 25% off the adult tier (The Paper, Aug 2025) |
| Two-day ticket | from 749 | from 111.59 | disneyparknerds, 23 Sep 2026 (promo, may expire); magic-tips listed 854–1,186 on 10 Aug 2026 |
- <>Children:<> under 3 are free. chinafortravelers also lists children under 1.0 m as free.
- <>Early-bird discounts:<> up to CNY 50 off when you buy 10 or more days ahead, and up to CNY 70 off at 15 or more days (EastChinaTrip, 7 Oct 2026).
- <>Cancellation:<> EastChinaTrip, a reseller, says cancelling is free at least 7 days before. A CNY 80 fee per ticket may apply from 6 days to 1 day before, and tickets are usually non-refundable on the day.
The official price page needs JavaScript and could not be read, so every figure above is third-party. We also found no official two-day, child or senior price list. The tier names Regular, Regular Plus, Peak and Peak Plus appear on wanderinchina (19 Feb 2026) but disneyparknerds calls them outdated.
Premier Access and Early Park Entry
Both are paid add-ons, bought in the resort app. The three sources we found disagree on Premier Access prices, and none is official:
- chinafortravelers (2 Sep 2026): about CNY 120–200 per ride (USD 17.88–29.80).
- Sina (11 Jul 2026): single ride about CNY 180 (USD 26.82).
- Trip.com HK guide (3 Jun 2026): about CNY 150–280 (USD 22.35–41.72), varying by season.
Early Park Entry costs from CNY 159 (USD 23.69) for one hour before opening, per a Trip.com Singapore guide (29 Jul 2026). disneyparknerds implies about CNY 199 for the same add-on. Disney hotel guests get 30 minutes early.
Real-name entry: using a passport at Shanghai Disneyland
Real-name ticketing has applied since 23 December 2024. The rules, as set out by the Shanghai government portal (21 Nov 2024) and Laughing Place:
- Each ticket must be in the buyer’s own valid government ID. Foreign visitors use a passport.
- One ticket per ID per visit date.
- Show the original ID used for the purchase at the gate. wanderinchina (19 Feb 2026) reports that photocopies are rejected.
- Children aged 3–11 can be bought a ticket with their own passport. Children under 3 are free but still need ID (Laughing Place).
Where to buy as a foreigner: wanderinchina says Trip.com accepts international credit cards, provided you enter the passport name and number exactly. Fliggy, Meituan and the WeChat mini-program generally need a Chinese mobile number and Chinese-linked payment (magic-tips, 10 Aug 2026). Ticket windows exist at the park, but wanderinchina discourages relying on them in peak season and suggests booking about 10 days ahead.
The official app needs a mobile number and a verification code, and tickets can be linked only after you enter the park (travelclassroom, 27 Apr 2026). We could not confirm whether the app is mandatory for entry.
Shanghai Disneyland hours and show times
| Source | Hours |
|---|---|
| Trip.com Singapore (29 Jul 2026) | Typically 08:30–21:30, sometimes to 22:00. Its own seasonal table shows 09:30–20:00 in Jan, Mar and Sep, and the page admits its table and FAQ are inconsistent. |
| thrill-data (read 8 Oct 2026) | 8–15 Oct 08:30–20:30 (12 Oct to 20:00); 16–18 Oct to 22:00 |
| gmw.cn (12 Jul 2026) | Typhoon day: park open 12:00–21:30 |
The official calendar is JavaScript-only and could not be read, so check the app the day before. The summer programme with ten late nights to 22:30 ended on 31 August 2026.
The nighttime show is ILLUMINATE!, about 15 minutes, usually once a day at closing (magic-tips, 28 Aug 2026). travelclassroom (27 Apr 2026) gives 21:15, with an extra 20:00 show on peak days. Both are unofficial and we could not find official show times.
What is new: the 10th anniversary and what is coming
- The 10th-anniversary celebration started on 20 March 2026 (Shanghai government portal, 27 Feb 2026). It added The Heart of Magic castle show, Mickey’s Storybook Express parade and an updated ILLUMINATE! with a Wish segment and a 10th-birthday finale. We found no end date for the celebration as a whole.
- A Spider-Man-themed land is described as the ninth themed area, with track installation complete, but has no opening date (Shanghai government portal, 22 Jun 2026).
- A third hotel, Enchanted Star (400 rooms), is “expected this winter” per the government portal, but “winter 2027” per Disney Tourist Blog (15 Jun 2026).

- <>Hongqiao airport:<> about 1.5 hours on Lines 10 and 11.
- <>Taxi:<> the figures we found are inconsistent, so we give none.
Where to stay near Shanghai Disneyland
The resort has two hotels, Shanghai Disneyland Hotel (420 rooms) and Toy Story Hotel (800 rooms). We could not find operator prices; third-party floors conflicted, so we publish none. For a stay in the city instead, see where to stay in Shanghai.
Busy periods and rules
National Day (1–7 Oct 2026) and Mid-Autumn (25–27 Sep 2026) have just passed. Spring Festival 2027 starts on 6 February, but we found no official 2027 holiday notice yet. wanderinchina’s estimates put the top tier at Chinese New Year and Golden Week. For other seasons, see the best time to visit Shanghai.
