No other Chinese destination charges in as many separate pieces as Zhangjiajie. Park entry, cable cars, lifts, shuttles, a bridge and an insurance surcharge are all priced independently, sold on different platforms, and quoted differently by different sources.
This page lists them all and says what each covers. The figures below now come from the official 2026 fee schedule published by Zhangjiajie Tourism rather than from aggregator sites, which is a change from how this page read when we first published it — several of the ranges we were quoting turned out to have a single correct answer.
The one ticket you cannot avoid
- Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
- CNY 240 adult, four-day pass
- Annual pass
- CNY 298
- Validity
- 4 consecutive calendar days from the first scan
- Includes
- Park entry, unlimited eco-buses, Huangshizhai, Golden Whip Stream, Yaozizhai, Yangjiajie, Yuanjiajie, Tianzi Mountain, Ten-Mile Gallery, Suoxiyu
- Excludes
- All cable cars, the Bailong Elevator, the monorail
- At the gate
- An optional insurance fee of around CNY 3 may be added
Checked 14 Aug 2026 — corrected Now taken from the official 2026 fee schedule published by Zhangjiajie Tourism, which gives CNY 240 for the four-day pass with no seasonal variation. We previously published CNY 236–240 because aggregator sources disagreed; the official list settles it. The CNY 298 annual pass is not something a visitor needs, but it explains the higher figure some sites quote.
The four days are the point
This is the detail most itineraries waste. The ticket does not expire at the end of the day you buy it — it runs for four consecutive calendar days from the first scan. The park is large enough that two days inside it is the sensible minimum, and the ticket already assumes you will take them.
Concessions
| Who | Pays |
|---|---|
| Children under 14 | Free |
| Ages 14 – 17 | Reduced (about CNY 122) |
| Seniors 60 – 64 | Reduced (about CNY 122) |
| Seniors 65 and over | Free entry; about CNY 39 for the shuttle and insurance |
Checked 13 Aug 2026 Per current Zhangjiajie ticketing guidance. Age is verified at the gate — carry passports for everyone in the party, including children.
Transport inside the park, all charged separately
- Bailong Elevator
- CNY 65 one way · CNY 130 return
- What it saves
- The 2-minute ride replaces roughly 2 hours of climbing
- Cable cars
- Tianzi Mountain and Huangshizhai, each priced separately
- Eco-buses
- Included in the park ticket, unlimited
Checked 14 Aug 2026 — corrected CNY 65 single and CNY 130 return per the official 2026 fee schedule. We previously published a range of CNY 65–72 because one aggregator quoted 72; the official figure is 65. The two-minute ascent against roughly two hours on foot is consistent across every source.
The separate scenic areas
Tianmen Mountain
A different mountain on the edge of Zhangjiajie city, not part of the Forest Park and not covered by its ticket.
- One-day pass, adult
- CNY 288
- Includes
- All attractions on the mountain plus the round-trip cable car
- Mini cableway
- CNY 25 one way, extra
- Cliff escalators
- CNY 32, extra
- Students, 14–17, 60–64
- About CNY 147
- Over 65
- About CNY 116
Checked 14 Aug 2026 — corrected CNY 288 for the one-day pass including the round-trip cable car, per the official 2026 fee schedule, which also prices the mini cableway at CNY 25 one way and the escalators at CNY 32. We previously published CNY 278–288; 288 is the current official figure, so the earlier increase reported for November 2025 did happen. Concession rates are from aggregator listings and are not in the official table. Tickets are still sold as lettered routes that determine your direction of ascent — check which one you are buying.
Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon and the Glass Bridge
- Canyon only
- CNY 60 plus insurance
- Canyon plus glass bridge
- CNY 50 + 125 plus insurance
- Capacity
- Daily cap; sells out in peak season
Checked 13 Aug 2026 Per current scenic-area ticketing listings.
Baofeng Lake and Huanglong Cave
Two more separately-ticketed sites inside the wider Wulingyuan area, both routinely sold as add-ons and neither covered by the park ticket. Baofeng Lake is a small mountain reservoir with a boat ride; Huanglong Cave is a large karst cave system.
- Baofeng Lake
- CNY 121
- Huanglong Cave
- CNY 125
- Covered by the park ticket?
- No, both are separate
Checked 14 Aug 2026 Both figures from the official 2026 fee schedule. Aggregator sites quote lower seasonal rates for both — CNY 96 and CNY 48 for Baofeng Lake, CNY 100 and CNY 55 for the cave — but the official table lists no seasonal variation, so treat the lower numbers with caution.
What a realistic three-day budget looks like
| Item | CNY |
|---|---|
| Forest Park, 4-day ticket | 240 |
| Bailong Elevator, one way | 65 |
| Tianmen Mountain, one-day pass | 288 |
| Core total | 593 |
| Optional: Grand Canyon + glass bridge | 175 + |
| Optional: additional cable cars | varies |
Zhangjiajie is, on entry fees alone, among the most expensive destinations in China. That is not a reason to skip it — it is a reason to know the number before you land.
Buying them
- Tickets are name-registered. Passport details are required at purchase and checked at the gate.
- Book ahead in peak season. The glass bridge and popular cable cars are capacity-capped.
- Prices move. Chinese scenic areas revise fees seasonally and occasionally at short notice. Every figure here carries the date we checked it; treat it as a planning estimate, not a quotation.
